Currently Hiring: Experienced Mechanical Engineer
O.P. Industries is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Melbourne office and support the delivery of technically demanding HVAC and mechanical services projects across commercial, healthcare, education, clean room and defence infrastructure on projects nation-wide.
This role suits a capable Mechanical Engineer, who is confident working across design, documentation, project support and technical coordination.
The successful candidate will be involved in mechanical services design, heat load calculations, fan static and pump head calculations, value engineering, technical reporting, procurement support and coordination with project managers, draftspersons, site teams, consultants, builders and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review HVAC and mechanical services designs
Carry out heat load, fan static and pump head calculations
Support design and construct projects from concept through to delivery
Provide technical support to project managers, draftspersons and site teams
Assist with value engineering, design reviews and safety in design
Prepare technical documentation, reports and design submissions
Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, architects and builders
Support junior engineers and contribute to the ongoing development of the engineering team
About You
You will ideally have:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
An Australian Drivers License.
Experience in HVAC, mechanical services, building services or commercial construction
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and HVAC design
Experience with heat load software such as Camel, HAP or similar
Good communication skills and confidence working with internal and external stakeholders
Exposure to Green Star, NABERS, healthcare, education, clean room or data centre projects would be highly regarded
