off-site PREFabrication

Our Prefabrication Department delivers high-quality, workshop-built solutions that streamline site installation, improve safety, and reduce program risk across projects of all sizes.

Operating from our dedicated fabrication facilities, the team provides end-to-end prefabrication services to support mechanical and hydraulic installations — from small works through to major contracts. Our capabilities include precision measuring, cutting, marking, oxy and MIG welding, general fabrication, and safe material handling using forklifts and lifting equipment.

What sets our prefabrication team apart is their ability to take a design from concept through construction and deliver a finished, installation-ready product that integrates seamlessly on site. By shifting critical works off-site, we help clients achieve shorter construction programs, more predictable costs, and improved safety outcomes through reduced hot works, manual handling, and site congestion.

All works are carried out in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and plumbing regulations, ensuring compliance, quality, and reliability at every stage.

Recent projects such as the IMAS Taroona Project (Tasmania) highlight the department’s expertise, particularly in complex stainless-steel process pump and pipework assemblies. These prefabricated pump skids were delivered ready for installation, supporting efficient site delivery and high-quality final outcomes.

Looking ahead, O.P. Industries continues to invest in smarter prefabrication processes. We are developing a more integrated planning approach that incorporates early input from site foremen, project managers, purchasing, service, commissioning, engineering, and drafting teams. This collaborative methodology reduces late-stage changes, minimises delays, and strengthens project certainty.

As we grow, prefabrication will remain a core part of our delivery model — enabling safer, faster, and more efficient project outcomes for our clients.

special projects & Bespoke works

We specialise in the delivery of small to medium mechanical projects within live, operational environments, where access, programme and site constraints demand a practical and highly coordinated approach.

Our team is experienced in working around active sites, restricted access, staged shutdowns and compressed programmes, delivering tailored, bespoke engineered solutions that respond directly to each client’s operational needs.

By engaging closely with end users, facilities teams and stakeholders, we ensure works are planned, engineered and executed with minimal disruption — balancing performance, cost and buildability to achieve outcomes that are fit for purpose and built to last.

Dedicated Project Managers, in-house Engineers, Draftspersons and support staff provide end-to-end oversight, ensuring each project is planned, coordinated and delivered efficiently from concept through to completion.

Our NEBB-certified commissioning team delivers the full scope of Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB) services across new and existing HVAC systems, ensuring plant and air distribution perform in line with design intent and operational requirements.

We also undertake recommissioning of existing buildings, supporting Green Star performance reviews and recertification by identifying optimisation opportunities, verifying system performance and improving energy efficiency. Through a structured, data-driven approach, we provide clients with confidence that systems are balanced, compliant and operating as intended.

Engineering & Drafting

Our in-house engineering and drafting team delivers practical, performance-driven mechanical solutions across complex and high-risk environments, working as an integrated workforce with project delivery and site teams where it adds value.

We specialise in engineering design and optimisation for hospitals and health facilities, liquid and process cooling systems—including specialised applications such as seawater-based heating and cooling for scientific and research environments—and glycol cooling systems for critical plant and equipment.

Our experience also extends to the design and optimisation of HVAC and cooling infrastructure for mission-critical data centres, supporting secure facilities across defence, law enforcement, meteorological and large-scale financial systems. Through a focus on buildability, resilience and lifecycle performance, we deliver engineered solutions that are robust, efficient and fit for purpose.
