Australian Bragg Centre – Adelaide, SA
O.P. Industries delivered specialist mechanical and hydraulic services works for the Australian Bragg Centre, a landmark biomedical facility within Adelaide’s BioMed City precinct, designed to support advanced cancer treatment and research.
The project comprises a completed 15-storey office and research tower, together with a three-level cancer treatment centre constructed to accommodate future proton therapy systems. The base building works required highly specialised service provisions to support the future installation of critical medical equipment.
OP Industries was engaged to undertake technically complex cast-in services works within the treatment centre structure. This included the coordination and installation of pipework and ductwork cast directly into up to 2-metre-thick reinforced concrete walls, forming part of the radiation shielding for the proton therapy bunkers. These services were designed to supply deionised water and mechanical systems essential to the operation of proton therapy equipment.
Delivered in collaboration with the project team and head contractor, the works demanded a high level of planning, precision and coordination, with zero tolerance for rework once concrete pours were complete. The successful execution of these works ensured critical future services were seamlessly integrated into one of Australia’s most structurally and technically demanding healthcare environments.
The Australian Bragg Centre project highlights O.P. Industries’ capability in delivering complex, high-risk services installations within specialist healthcare infrastructure, reinforcing our expertise in supporting technically advanced facilities and future-focused medical developments.
