UTAS Forestry Building – Hobart, TAS

O.P. Industries successfully delivered mechanical services works for the University of Tasmania’s heritage-listed Forestry Building in Hobart, as part of UTAS’s landmark Southern Transformation program.

The project incorporated an energy-efficient, fully electrified heating and cooling solution, supporting UTAS’s long-term sustainability objectives and transition toward low-carbon campus infrastructure. Innovative system design was carefully integrated within the constraints of the existing heritage building, enhancing occupant comfort and operational performance while preserving the site’s architectural significance.

Delivered in collaboration with Hansen Yuncken as the managing contractor, the project required a considered and highly coordinated approach to services integration within a tightly controlled heritage framework. The outcome reflects a strong alignment between all project stakeholders and a shared commitment to sustainable, forward-thinking design.

The successful delivery of The Forest project further strengthens O.P. Industries’ ongoing relationship with the University of Tasmania and reinforces our continued commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable infrastructure projects across Tasmania, in partnership with clients and builders who share a common vision for industry-leading outcomes.
